Large Truck Driver / Mr. Kenichi Yamamoto
Mid-career recruitment / Joined the company : April, 2014

What department you were in when you were a student and what you focused on (if you are in the middle -career recruitment, a brief explanation until you join the company)

Ever since I was little, I was an active type who liked playing outside more than staying at home. After graduating from junior high school, I worked in another industry over 10 years.

What made you join the company (what made you pay attention to the industry or company, what made you want to work)

Before joining Daiwa Express Co., Ltd., I was working in a different industry, but decided to try a new type of job, so I joined Daiwa Express through the introduction of an acquaintance.

Current job details (one day)

I am currently operating a large truck route. It is a regular service that goes east from Kobe to Yokohama, and west from Atsugi to Osaka.

When I feel accomplished

The job description of professional truck driver is to safely deliver cargo to a designated location within a set time. When I look at the empty loading platform after distributing at the end of the day, I can feel a sense of accomplishment and feel rewarded.

How to spend the days off

I spend my days off mostly with my family. Since my child is small, I mainly participate in children’s events and shopping. As my work shifts are irregular, it is difficult to attend everything, but if there is a school event such as parents’ opening day, etc.  on my off day, I make sure to go to attend.

To those who are considering joining the company

If you are unsure whether you can drive a truck or not, please take the plunge and try it. When I first joined the company, many seniors taught me and helped me, and they supported me until I could do the work by myself. Don’t think “Can I do it?”, think “I can do it!” and jump in! Everyone is waiting for you!  You are not alone!

When I was looking for a job after college graduation, I learned about Daiwa Express at a joint company information session and became interested in the logistics industry. Until then, I hadn’t thought about getting a working in the logistics industry, but I thought it would be  interesting to get a job in the logistics industry, which is the core of people’s living, so I joined the company.

Administrative Worker / Ms. Rumi Ono
Mid-career recruitment / Joined the company : October, 2015

What department you were in when you were a student and what you focused on (if you are in the middle -career recruitment, a brief explanation until you join the company)

When I was a student, I belonged to the brass band club for six years in junior high school and high school, and I was immersed in music every day.

After graduating from high school, I worked in an office job for 5 years before getting married, and worked in the service industry for 3 years. During that time I also had a job with a shipping company. After I got married, I worked part-time while raising my children.

What made you join the company (what made you pay attention to the industry or company, what made you want to work)

I decided to work as a full-time employee instead of part-time after my childcare had settled down a little.
I was away from my home town after getting married, but it turned out that I return to my old area a few years ago and decided to choose the transport industry that I had some experiences in. Referred by an acquaintance, I was able to join Daiwa Express.

Current job details (one day)

I am mainly in charge of accounting and general affairs in the sales office. Daily order entry, issuing invoices, creating payroll statements, etc.

When I feel accomplished

When the work that needs to be done is surely completed, and it is completed according to the plan that I have assembled myself. It’s only been a year since I joined the company, so I’m still going through trial and error while thinking about work efficiency and changing methods.

How to spend the holidays

I don’t have a lot of time to spend with my children on weekdays, so my days off are spent with my family. My daughter, who is in high school , started playing brass band like me, so I go to events and competitions she participates in.

To those who are considering joining the company

There are many different duties and responsibilities inside the one word of “transport business”, and the objective of the job is achieved by all that are involved in it.  I think working at Daiwa Express is rewarding because I can feel the importance of working together.
